CARD - Vintage Butterfly

Here's a first card made with the MJD (Mes Jolies Découpes) #25 from ToutenColle. It's a die-cut + wooden shapes kit released every month. Absolutely LOVE those huge butterflies (card is 15XA5 cm). Had fun with Lindy's spray too..
Card is pretty easy and straightforward but I took step by step pictures nonetheless.

I started by cutting my white card 15x30 cm (folded to make a 15x15 card) and a 14,5X14,5 cm paper. Inked the edges of the paper with the blue Versamagic

For the body of the Butterfly, I cut a matching paper, inked the edges. and glued it on the paper butterfly

Used the ToutenColle "Manuscrit fin" stamp by ToutenColle with blue and black Versamagic to stamp the paper butterfly in two colours. Inked up the edges of the butterfly

I then inked the wooden butterfly. I pressed the inkpad directly onto the wood and then blended with the sponge dauber

I sprayed the whole butterfly with Lindy's spray to give it a nice sheen (forgot to take a picture of that stage)
I put a few drops of the Lindy's spray on an acrylic bloc and used a sponge to apply the ink on the edges of the butterfly

You can see the glimmer of those sprays better on this picture

I glued the wooded butterfly onto the card, then added the paper butterfly, glueing only the body and lifting the wings.
For the wooden words, I painted them with PaperArtsy Snowflake paint. To avoid too much paint on the word (and in the little crevices), I chose to apply the paint with a sponge. Working on the Gel Press keeps the wooden word in place.

To clean my Gel Press, I use hand sanitizer

Finally, I added glitter glue on the butterfly and wooden word
⚠ BE CAREFUL: the glitter glue (Stickles) made the word (painted in white though) turn a bit yellow
Like an old paper effect

Of course, I also stamped the envelope. I used the the "manuscrit fin" with both colours again as well as a stencil

Here you go
Hope you enjoyed this

ALTERING - Paris tray

Just a very quick post of an altered tray I made for a class several years ago.
Nothing special about it in the way I made it (paint, crackle, paper, embellishments) but I looked at it differently this week after what happened in Notre-Dame in Paris. I have walked by many times, never went inside as the lines were always way too long. I really wish I had now...

CARD - New stamps - Nichoirs/Bird houses

Here's the first card made with the latest stamps released yesterday.
This is such a (rather large) stamp plate.
You can use the birdhouses as is or use them individually.
Big enough for Art Journaling too

Stamp the birdhouses on a watercolour card

 Stamp in again twice.
Once to cut out the bird houses
Another time to cut out the leaves and perches

Watercolour the card, behind the birdhouses.
Add a few splatters too if you like

Glue de leaves (with a liquid glue)
Stick the bird houses with sticky foam squares

The leaves are shaped and only glued at the base

Watercolour the birdhouses

Add the little birds (watercolored and cut out)
(Pile de Zozios from Tout en Colle)
Love those, so cute

Don't forget to stamp the envelope too

CARD & VIDEO - Zen feathers with Versamagic inks

Back with a new card and video with the Plumes Zen stamp plate I designed for ToutenColle.
Noëlle (ToutenColle owner) has just added the Versamagic inks on their website, so I wanted to focus on these for this card.

I LOVE Versamagic ink. Have been using them for over 12 years and they are probably my favourite (along with Distress inks).
The video is a "let's make a mistake and show you how to get away with it" video LOL.
I was jinxed on that one. But I did not start over when it happened, instead I showed how to cope with the "mistakes" using Versamagic as "watercolours"... yup, painting with these...

I realised that my inkpads need a good re-inking session 😜

So here it is... Let me know what you think, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any on the blog or on YouTube/Facebook/Instagram (links in the sidebar)

I have also done another card with different colours

Thanks for stopping by

CARD - ZEN #IsaCStamps

First of all I would like to thank you for all your kind words about the stamps I designed for ToutEnColle. I'm so pleased about them and how they turned out and I couldn't wait to use them.
I went with the grey+1 colour combo for these first samples. I love grey (particularly that Koala Fresco Finish paint) as it goes with any colour really

Start by stamping the feather on the tag.
They really stamp beautifully, details are wonderful 😊

Mix PaperArtsy Haystack and Caramel Fresco Finish paints
I decided to go with the grey and ochre combination for this one (one of my fav colour combo).
I now use the mini GelPress as a pallet and absolutely love it.
(Thanks Laety Sia for the tip on your video)

Paint another tag as well as some of the details on the feather with the ochre paint
Cut the white tag slightly smaller than the yellow one

Cut the end of the feathers with an exacto knife (only on one side) and paint the tag with the grey Koala Fresco Finish paint

Mix some PaperArtsy Grunge Paste with the Koala paint and apply to the tag using a stencil
I used ToutenColle crackle stencil

Stamp on the background using grey Archival ink

Stamp the script using black Archival ink
I used PaperArtsy MN44

Using a cut n' dry sponge, add some Haystack paint on the edges and, once dry, repeat with black Archival ink

Mount the tag onto the yellow one and lift up the cut feathers so that the colour ochre show through

Add some Diamond glitter glue, black and white splatter and the quote

Here's a couple more samples using a different colour with the grey
On this one, I used the little feather and yin/yang from the Plumes Zen plate

And on this one, I also used the border stamp plate on the border on the left as well as around the main image and the little checker board on the background

Thanks for stopping by.
Remember is you purchase those stamps (come on, you know you want to ;)) and post something on Instagram, use the hashtag #isaCStamps so I can see what's you've been up to
