CARD - Vintage Butterfly
Tuto en français sur le blog de ToutenColle :)
Here's a first card made with the MJD (Mes Jolies Découpes) #25 from ToutenColle. It's a die-cut + wooden shapes kit released every month. Absolutely LOVE those huge butterflies (card is 15XA5 cm). Had fun with Lindy's spray too..
Card is pretty easy and straightforward but I took step by step pictures nonetheless.
I started by cutting my white card 15x30 cm (folded to make a 15x15 card) and a 14,5X14,5 cm paper. Inked the edges of the paper with the blue Versamagic
For the body of the Butterfly, I cut a matching paper, inked the edges. and glued it on the paper butterfly
Used the ToutenColle "Manuscrit fin" stamp by ToutenColle with blue and black Versamagic to stamp the paper butterfly in two colours. Inked up the edges of the butterfly
I then inked the wooden butterfly. I pressed the inkpad directly onto the wood and then blended with the sponge dauber
I sprayed the whole butterfly with Lindy's spray to give it a nice sheen (forgot to take a picture of that stage)
I put a few drops of the Lindy's spray on an acrylic bloc and used a sponge to apply the ink on the edges of the butterfly
You can see the glimmer of those sprays better on this picture
I glued the wooded butterfly onto the card, then added the paper butterfly, glueing only the body and lifting the wings.
For the wooden words, I painted them with PaperArtsy Snowflake paint. To avoid too much paint on the word (and in the little crevices), I chose to apply the paint with a sponge. Working on the Gel Press keeps the wooden word in place.
To clean my Gel Press, I use hand sanitizer
Finally, I added glitter glue on the butterfly and wooden word
⚠ BE CAREFUL: the glitter glue (Stickles) made the word (painted in white though) turn a bit yellow
Like an old paper effect
Of course, I also stamped the envelope. I used the the "manuscrit fin" with both colours again as well as a stencil
