CARD AND VIDEO - Watercolour pencils and masking techique

Image
Hello,

I was asked to do a tutorial showing how to use watercolour pencils. As it's not easy to show it only with pictures, I have done a video tutorial. Also wanted to make the most of the video to show how to use the masking technique, which again, I have shown only with pictures so far.
So here we are.. masking, watercolour and using the Pansy stamp I drew for Toutencolle.

TBT - PaperArtsy hanging thingy (metal and sticky canvas)

Image
Hello,

Throw Back Thursday...
A couple of days ago, as I was going through boxes of "craft stuff" I had to sort out, I came across this...
Did this about .... not sure... 5 years ago maybe 6 for a class in Canada.
Can't remember what I used exactly, but looking at the pictures, I would say PaperArtsy stamps and Fresco Finish paints, metal sheets, sticky canvas (on the metal so we could shape the petals), acetate.... I remember it was a very popular class. We had a load of fun making this... Good times
I found something else, but will show you next Thursday

MY STAMP DESIGNS - Une Pensée pour toi

Image
Hello

Here's a first card I made today using these new stamps I designed for ToutenColle You will find below a quick video showing you how I made the background. It's in French, but I'm sure it won't be a problem.

Start by stamping the pansies on a white card using Versafine ink

Stamp it again on another card to cut-out some of the flowers and leaves.  Stamp it also on masking paper

Next cut a square in a square piece of (thin) paper
Here's the video showing you how I made my "patchwork" background
Once the mask is removed, glue the flowers and leaves

Colour them using the medium of your choice I used watercolour pencils

Add a touch of Glitter Glue on the flowers

Here we go Hope you enjoyed this

CARD - Topsy turvy Crocus

Image
Hello,
Here's another sample made with my latest Crocus Stamp  available from Toutencolle

Stamp the crocus onto masking paper  (the ones on the left) and some spare crocuses that you will glue to your card later

Stamp the flower at the top of the watercolour card (measuring 15 X 15 cm) To do so, mask the parts of the stamps you do not want to ink up Don't forget to remove it before stamping 😉

Stamp it twice on the upper part of the card, dry the ink, and cover with the masks

Stamp the smaller crocus as shown below using Versafine ink

Mask the stamped crocuses, ink the last big crocus, remove the tape and stamp on the right

Now mask all the crocuses

Stamp the "Nuages de pointillés" with green Versafine and "Texture bulle" with black Versafine and remove the masks

Using watercolour pencils (Fabrer Castell Albrecht Dürer), colour all the the crocuses including the ones you will cover with cut out crocuses

Glue the cut-out crocuses onto the card using glue at the …

ALTERING - watercolour tin

Image
Hello,

Just a quick post today to share a watercolour tin I altered yesterday. Kinda matches the upcycled mouse mat I did the other day

I recently received the Derwent Inktense paint palettes, two of them (as they don't sell the 24), and I wanted to transfer them to a watercolour tin that would hold 24.

I already have a tin like this that holds my Van Gogh (Royal Talens) watercolours, so I thought why not alter the tin to differentiate them easily? I will also alter the other one later.

Very simple:
- Gesso
- PaperArtsy Fresco Finish paints,
- Toutencolle daisies (my designs, available here), Crafty Individuals crackle a…

ART JOURNAL - #52cafejournals challenge (week 2)

Image
Hello,
This is my second entry (now I have caught up) for Marta's #52cafejournals challenge.
Prompts were:
° Birdie ° Tealish colour ° Spring is here ° Pencil ° Hidden numbers ° Add some writing
Started with stamping the quote with India Ink.  These are old Hero Arts and Penny Black alpha stamps

I then drew the bird

I then watercolored the page using Derwent Inktense pencils (and paint pan) One of the prompt was "pencil". I'm sure Marta meant "use pencils" but I thought it would be fun to perch my bird onto the pencil. All stamps are from PaperArtsy (mini 23+39+44+56) Used a bit of Versamagic inks too and finished with Faber Castell Polychromos
Hope you liked it See you soon 😋
